Rainbow Cupcake Find...

Just stumbled upon these: Rainbow Cupcakes by Big Red Kitchen.

They've divided the batter, coloured it and layered it into the cupcake liner in order of rainbow colours. They look crazy!

Check the entire post with heaps of pics here.

28 weeks...

Here I am in the car on the way back from visiting my folks in Katikati. It was great, although I can't wait to get into our good old bed tonight, as I'm exhausted!

Bub has been great this week, although I haven't felt the best but I'm used to feeling about 80% these days anyway. She had the hiccups early on in the week (which was strange) and has been treated to some toys from her Marby (thats Grandma B - my mum) and a chest of drawers for her room - as a girl needs plenty of space for her clothes. Even if they are munchkin sized. haha.

Antenatal class was good, learnt about massage and support during the first stage of labour. Just confirms that I know J will be a perfect partner in crime when the time comes.

Other than that I'm just growing this little pixie all nice and cute- 8 weeks of work to go, 12 weeks till we meet this little sprite...

27 weeks...

I do have another leg! I took this while walking to my Midwife appointment. All is good and healthy - bub's heart beat sounds like a horse galloping. She kicks alot. I'm finding it harder to sleep and have tingly hands and feet at the moment. We started our antenatal classes last week and it was all awkward and strange- yet informative. I still have the overwhelming urge to prepare the house for her arrival and it nags at me that I haven't bought everything on my list to finish off her room. Soon though. Applied for my leave, 9 weeks of it left, feels weird! Entering my third trimester this week...

Baby Shopping!

We went baby shopping on Saturday!! Thought we would go and buy some books and toys since I'm not having a shower and, well, just because it's fun. J ended up choosing most of the things we got in the end. He got right into it. Although he did get a bit sidetracked at Toyworld in the lego and car racing shelves!...

Faery presents from Jacqui

Aunty Jacqui gave us these faery treasures last week. A framed faery print for bub's wall and a faery top with wings - thank-you, soooo cute!

Making Dolls

I made another Polly and this time it's for my little one... not a gift for anyone else like usual. I've made her from fabric off cuts and a sari-skirt I got from a clothing swap. (loved the fabric so much I thought I would make stuff out of it instead of wear it!).

Check out the Softies Book here.

Mimi and Momo Organic Dolls

Thought I would post some of the things I've been buying up for my little girl. I've had my eye on this cute doll for ages and Nature Baby came through with a sale just the other week so raced down and got me one!

This is what they say about it:
"A loving natural doll made entirely from organic cotton. A very popular favourite in our store. The doll's simple features mean they can be anybody the child wishes. The doll will absorb the warmth and scent of a child's bed and provide comfort when away from familiar surroundings."

I'm all for organic stuff for bubs and the absorbing properties sound great! Check it out here.

A change up

Although I said my blog would be a break from baby stuff to keep me creative, I feel I've limited all the fun posts I could be putting up about baby stuff!!. I didn't realise I would be so obsessed with the whole thing - but hey, I AM! I mean for goodness sake - I'm creating a human here! So time for a revamp and a change up.

The pic above and in the header is of me at 26 weeks, i'ts my point of view. I hope to take many more like this so you can see what I am going through, my way. I do look rather huge, but don't worry - a profile shot would show that I'm in fact NOT an elephant... yet...

Barbie Bits

Going through my blog-roll this morning, I found the Toggle blog featuring jewellery designer Margaux Lange. She puts bits and pieces of Barbie dolls into her jewellery - I think they are fantastic!.

Bub Update... Woop woop!

Yeah been a while my dears! - too bad. I'm tired and going slightly insane these days.
  • 25 weeks now, and going strong
  • Have been growing a wriggly-worm, wriggles in the morning, wriggles through the day - internally beats me at about 4.45 (I'm convinced she wants to hear her fathers voice and go for a ride in the car home for food and rest! - or is that me?) wriggles in the evening... doesn't wriggle through the night... much... yet...
  • Feeling healthy and looking good?
  • Have some new boots (not baby related but this is my blog and I can write whatever the hell I want) - thus the looking good.
  • Have finished 'On Becoming Babywise' and LOVED it. I hope to use the basic principles and guidelines when the time comes. Have started a new book and have skimmed the antenatal handbook - which was damn scary.
  • Antenatal classes start next week for 6 weeks, wish us luck!
  • We are hooked on a name, and often refer to her by this name. It's fun, and doesn't look like we'll be changing it EVEN if one of the 5+ other people we know who are pregnant give birth before me name their daughters the same name. Hehe So there.
  • Going baby shopping this weekend for treasures, useless toys and pretty things since I'm not having a shower and cos I've wanted to buy crap for ages. Can't wait!
  • Work is getting harder, I'm so glad I sit down all day and not waste my ankles out in retail. phew.
  • Still able to sleep comfortably, only getting up a couple of times on a bad night. Yay!
